Privacy Policy
GeoProof has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not operate a server that receives your photos. This policy explains exactly what stays on your device and the few things that do not.
1. Who we are
GeoProof ("the app") is an independent mobile application. For any privacy question, contact bziyar.dev@gmail.com.
2. We do not collect personal data
The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any account. We operate no user database. We cannot identify you, and we receive none of your content.
3. What is stored on your device only
- Photos you capture, both the stamped version and any clean copy you choose to keep
- GPS coordinates, accuracy, altitude and compass heading attached to each photo
- Street addresses resolved for your photos
- Notes, job names, markup, signatures and your company logo
- App settings and stamp layout preferences
- A SHA-256 fingerprint of each photo, used for the integrity check
All of this is written to your device's private app storage. It is never uploaded by the app. It is included in your device backup only if your phone is configured to back up app data, which is controlled by Apple or Google, not by us.
4. Network requests the app makes
The app is designed to work offline. It still makes a small number of requests, and we would rather list every one than make a vague claim.
| Purpose | What is sent | Sent to | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accurate timestamp | No personal data. A time query only. | Public NTP time servers; an HTTPS request header as fallback | On |
| Street address lookup | The photo's coordinates | Your operating system's geocoding service (Apple on iOS, Google on Android) | On |
| Map thumbnail on the stamp | The photo's coordinates | A map tile provider (OpenStreetMap, or Geoapify where configured) | On |
| Weather at capture | The photo's coordinates | Open-Meteo, a free weather service requiring no account or API key | Off — you must switch it on, after an in-app notice |
| Purchases | Store receipt and an anonymous app-generated identifier | RevenueCat, plus Apple or Google | Only when you buy |
Your photographs are never transmitted by any of these requests. Neither are your notes, job names, signatures or logo. Where coordinates are sent, they are sent without any identifier that links them to you.
If you use the app with no network connection, it continues to capture and stamp photos. You lose only the street address, the map thumbnail, the weather reading, and refreshed time verification.
5. Location
Location permission is the core function of the app: without it there is nothing to stamp. Location is read while you are using the app to produce the stamp, and is stored on your device with the photo. It is transmitted only for the specific purposes listed in the table above. We do not build a location history on any server, because there is no server.
6. Camera and photo library
Camera access is used to take photos. Photo library access is requested only if you choose to save a photo to your gallery or to select a logo image. Nothing is read from your library without that action.
7. Purchases
The one-time Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details. Purchase status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives a store receipt and an anonymous identifier generated by the app — not your name, email or device contacts. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from.
8. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent any data
- We do not serve advertising and there are no ad networks in the app
- We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting or attribution SDKs
- We do not profile you or make automated decisions about you
- We do not share your data with data brokers
9. Retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device for as long as you keep it. Delete individual photos in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. Because we hold no copy, deletion is complete and immediate — there is nothing for us to erase on our side. Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are governed by their own policies.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar laws you have rights of access, correction, erasure, portability and objection. In practice these are satisfied directly: your data is in your hands on your own device, and we hold no personal data to disclose or delete. If you believe otherwise, write to bziyar.dev@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. EU and UK users may also complain to their national data protection authority.
11. Children
GeoProof is a professional field-documentation tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 — or under 16 where local law sets that threshold.
12. Third-party services
The services named in section 4 process the data described there under their own privacy policies: Apple, Google, OpenStreetMap, Geoapify, Open-Meteo and RevenueCat. We have no control over their practices and encourage you to read their policies if that matters to you.
13. International transfers
The services above may process requests on servers outside your country. Because those requests carry coordinates and no identifier, the transfer does not include information that identifies you.
14. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes and the updated policy is published here before the change takes effect in a released version of the app.
